Ten Things Never to Say or Do in Russia

Sometimes, knowing what NOT to do is even more important if you want to fit in or at least produce a good impression. Read on to find out about ten Russian social taboos.

  • Don't come to visit empty-handed

If you're invited over for dinner, or just for a visit, don't come to a Russian house with nothing. What you bring doesn't really matter — a box of chocolates, flowers, or a small toy for a child. Russian hosts prepare for company by cooking their best dishes and buying delicacies that they normally wouldn't for themselves. If, after all this effort, a guest shows up without even a flower, Russians believe he doesn't care.

The world is a better place because of the presence of women, mothers, sisters, daughters, friends or wives… no matter what their role is. They add meaning to our existence… They bring love to our life.

Мир становится лучше от того, что в нем есть женщины, матери, сестры, дочери, друзья или жены... независимо от того, в чем состоит их роль. Они добавляют значение нашему существованию... Они привносят любовь в нашу жизнь.

All the best wishes for you
on this special day!

Всего тебе самого лучшего

We wish you a Merry Cristmas and a Happy New Year 2014!!

New Year and Christmas are the most favourite winter holidays. They were coming.
“Why not to hold a merry Contest of Greetings Cards?” - thought the students of the 6th form.
The preparations began.  For children there was nothing better than drawing funny
sketches, cutting bright pictures out of old magazines, thinking up their own rhymes.
Some cards were real little “ masterpieces” having been made with love and imagination.
